Most of us donate when the request comes to our mailbox and the moving story tugs at our heartstrings. Many nonprofits supporting children, cancer survivors, veterans, the homeless, the hungry etc utilize this strategy and we give from our hearts without considering factors such as impact, efficiency, transparency and whether most of our donation goes to the cause.
